Collection and Use of Data

What personal data does ACLRH collect?

The Applied Commercial Law Research Hub (‘ACLRH’) routinely collects information including members’ names, addresses, relevant qualifications, institutional affiliations, employment history, areas of interest, email addresses and telephone numbers.  We collect this contact data directly from our members when they join the network, and it is updated as and when members inform us of any changes.

On occasion, we may take your photograph or include your image in the videos we make at ACLRH events; both will be done with express consent collected at the commencement of the relevant event. ACLRH does not collect any special categories of special data.

How ACLRH uses your data:

ACLRNN uses the collected data for the administration of membership, the communication of information to members, as well as the organisation of its events.

How ACLRH shares your data:

ACLRH does not share any of your contact data with any other organisation, without your consent.

How ACLRH stores your data:

Your data is stored in secured digital formats that can only be accessed through passwords.

How ACLRH grants access to your data:

Access to your data is limited to the executive committee members, who are responsible for membership and the website only. Your name, affiliation and area(s) of specialisation are included in our members’ directory and shared on our website, unless expressly request to be excluded. We also use your name and affiliation to identify you in pictures and videos posted on-line.

Any information that is stored remotely is stored in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

How long ACLRH keeps your data, and why:

We keep your data for our legitimate interest as a membership organisation throughout your membership of ACLRH. All your contact data is deleted as soon as you terminate your membership. Personal data captured on documents, pictures, audio and video files, as well as those pertaining to former office and committee membership will be retained for archiving purposes, and names cannot be removed from them.

How to check or correct the data ACLRH holds about you:
