Bolanle Adebola

Bolanle is an Associate Professor at the School of Law, University of Reading, specializing in International Commercial Law. Her research focuses on the design and effectiveness of corporate rescue systems, aiming to balance stakeholder interests while preserving viable yet distressed businesses within the economy. Bolanle employs socio-legal, comparative, and empirical approaches, making significant contributions to academic and policy debates, as well as law reform in both developed and emerging economies. Her impactful research has been supported, amongst others, by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), the British Council.
Bolanle is actively involved in various practitioner and policy associations. She serves as an editor for the Encyclopaedia of Banking Law (Insolvency Division) and a grant reviewer for the AHRC. Beyond her academic and professional commitments, she is a founding trustee of Emmanuel Scholars, a charity focused on enhancing educational opportunities for underprivileged children in Nigeria, particularly during the critical transition from primary to secondary education.

Titilayo Adebola

Titilayo is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Aberdeen where she is the Director of the Centre for Commercial Law and Theme Coordinator for International Intellectual Property and Information Law. Her interdisciplinary research specialisations are primarily in International Economic Law and Intellectual Property Law. Weaving insights from history, politics, socio-legal studies and Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL), her scholarship is devoted to exploring the use of law to effect social and economic development, especially in the Global South. She has advised intergovernmental organisations, regional institutions, national governments and private sector actors on matters related to her specialisations. Titilayo is the Founding Editor of Flora IP. She is on the Editorial Boards of inter alia Afronomicslaw.org and the Journal of International Economic Law.

Kayode Olude

Kayode Olude

Kayode is a distinguished early career researcher with a specialisation in restructuring and insolvency law. He holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Nottingham, UK, where he concentrated on corporate insolvency law. Kayode’s extensive practical experience spans esteemed law firms, research institutions, and international organisations, including a notable internship with the World Bank Insolvency and Debt Resolution team. He has authored and presented papers on various aspects of insolvency law, showcasing his expertise and contributing to the academic discourse.

Currently, Kayode serves as a Research and Coordinating Associate at the Applied Commercial Law Research Hub (ACLRH), an organisation dedicated to fostering research and facilitating knowledge exchange on the development and reform of commercial laws. Through his work, Kayode is committed to advancing the field of insolvency law and supporting effective legal frameworks in commercial practice.

Nwanneka Ezechukwu

Nwanneka Ezechukwu

Nwanneka is a lecturer at the University of Sheffield. She holds a PhD in law from the University of Nottingham. Her doctoral thesis focused on consumer protection in innovative payment services, particularly mobile payments. Her doctorate was awarded without corrections. She also holds an LLM (with distinction) in International Commercial Law from Cardiff University. She is a first-class graduate of the Nigerian Law School and has been called to the Nigerian Bar. Nwanneka also holds an advanced certificate in regulatory compliance awarded by the International Compliance Association. Nwanneka’s core research interest is in consumer law and policy. Currently, she is focusing on how regulatory mechanisms can be used to protect the interests of consumers in the face of rapidly changing technology. In particular, she is researching the regulation of innovative financial services and online platforms. She previously lectured at Birmingham City University. During her PhD, she taught on a part-time basis at both the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University.

Sanford Mba

Sanford Mba

Sanford is a Senior Counsel in the Corporate and Commercial Law Department of Dentons ACAS-Law, a leading Nigerian law firm. He specializes in business recovery/restructuring, private equity, mergers and acquisitions and project finance type transactions. His vast skills and knowledge of insolvency law and practice ensures that appropriate belts and braces are built into transaction structures to ensure adequate borrower, lender, investor or investee protection (depending on who he is acting for). Sanford earned an LLB from the University of Benin and was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2012. He obtained an LLM and PhD from the Central European University. He has also held visiting scholar positions at both Cornell Law School and the Commercial Law Center, Harris Manchester College, Oxford University. He has published articles on insolvency and restructuring law in reputable journals and his jointly-written article on insolvency law response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria and Kenya has been recently accepted for publication. He is the author of the book New Financing for Distressed Businesses in the Context of Business Restructuring Law. Sanford is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Insol International and also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) Nigeria Branch.”
