CLRNN Spotlight on Corporate Governance and Insolvency Law in Africa provides a platform through which various stakeholder groups including, scholars, practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and regulators can engage in constructive discussions aimed at developing corporate governance and insolvency law systems across Africa. Launched in July 2021, CLRNN Spotlight has held monthly seminars on issues drawn from several African countries.
Building on the success and impact of our seminars, we announce our inaugural international conference to be held on 7 July 2022, in Abuja, Nigeria. The conference, which will provide opportunities for deeper engagement in research and knowledge-exchange on matters pertinent to the continent, will focus on national and regional/cross-border issues with a view to inform policy, practice, governance, norm-building, and reforms across African States.
We invite scholars, practitioners, regulators, and other stakeholders interested in corporate governance and insolvency law in Africa to submit abstracts of not more than 300 words outlining their intended presentation at the conference.
Presentations on the following themes are especially encouraged:
- Corporate governance and insolvency law reforms, and policy trends across Africa
- Insolvency strategies and policy developments in a post-pandemic African economy
- Specific national and regional/cross-border comparative insolvency developments
- The Role of ADR in insolvency law and restructuring in Africa.
- National and Cross-border insolvency issues pertinent to Banks and Financial Institutions.
- Legislative and policy perspectives on the treatment of MSMEs in insolvency
- The impact of insolvency on creditor interests.
- Maritime insolvency law in Africa
- Fintech and Insolvency law in Africa
